How to close or delete upstox account permanently online

Account closing procedure in upstox can be done both online and offline. You can close upstox account by filling and sending account closure form. If you are not trading or moved to another broker, closing your old account is better, since it will accumulate monthly maintenance charge. Upstox charges monthly maintenance charge of Rs. 25+gst per month. 

Before requesting to close your upstox account, you should clear all your dues or negative balance in your account. If any fund is left in your trading account, withdraw it before closing account. You also have to sell or transfer all your holdings in that account.

Step by step procedure to close upstox account online process

1. Login to Upstox app > Go to Account > My Account > Profile.

2. Select "Account Closure" option under Profile.

3. Ensure no holdings or funds left in your Upstox account.

4. Enter the 6-digit closure code sent to your registered email and mobile.

5. Account closure request is submitted and will be completed within 7-8 working days. You will be notified via email on completion.

• Login to your Upstox account.
• Under Profile, select Account Closure option.
• Clear any holdings/funds if remaining.
• Input closure code received.
• Request will be processed in 7-8 working days and email notification will be sent on completion of account closure.

Step by step procedure to close upstox account offline

To close your upstox account, follow these steps.

1. Go to upstox official website.
2. In the top menu, go to support -> to forms.
3. You can find demat closure form in account modification section there.
4. Download it and print.
5. Fill it with your details and sign.
6. Send it by post or courier to correspondence adress metioned at top of the form.

You upstox account will be closed within a few days. If you didnt get any confirmation even after a week from upstox, follow up with customer service.

There isn't any charge for closing upstox account. But you cant close upstox account using online procedure. Offline mode is only available now.
